Computer addiction: A Rogerian Essay

 
老师的要求是以Rogerian argument  的格式写一个00字左右的文章。
但是我现在好像不懂那种格式,有点没理解到,所以我的要求就是只有一个,帮我把改成地地道道的 Rogerian argument 的格式。
以下是我的初稿
Computer addiction: A Rogerian Essay
     Nowadays, it is common believe that teenagers spend increasingly time on computer than they used to especially recent years.  Our society is advancing and changing now, which makes people rely on the computer, looks more reasonable. Moreover, it is make sense to teenagers who got involve into computer addiction according to online study, online socializing or even online gaming are growing faster  today. The trend of computer addiction among teenagers is obviously going up as well as teenagers increase their time on computer in the daily life.  Therefore, when parents witness their children are getting computer addiction, it is not magnificent problem they should panic.  Just like the “gay” problem. 20 years ago, gay was considered one of the mental disorders in the psychology therapy manual and now it is deleted from the book. Thus, computer addiction would not be a serious problem.
      It is convincing from the data, statistics have shown that “Researchers have estimated that in the mid-1990s there were 13-15 million internet users in North America, and 20-25 million users around the world. More recent calculations put the number of internet users worldwide at approximately 100 million by the end of 1997(John, 2000)” it is unchangeable fact that, the growing computer user would continually increase and this increasing number is the potential number of computer addicted people.  From the positive perspective, like Cheryl K, Olsen (2010), she provides a huge list of benefits that computer games do for children. Leadership, facing challenges, mastery, social development, expression of one’s creativity is only some of the advantages brought about by playing computer games.  Just like Marc Prensky, a consultant in areas of education and learning, says “can you learn, in game, real-life things like finding your way around an offshore oil platform, trading financial instruments, managing a theme park, or being stealthy? You bet you can, and gamers often choose their games because they are interested in learning these things (prensky, 2002).” And additional, unconscious “how” let you know playing a game is that you could control what happens on the screen, not just watching movies. Even infants quickly learn this and sit fascinated, moving the mouse and watching the screen with glee for long periods. This is “real world” learning (prensky, 2002).
      Everyone knows the damage to children eyes when they focus on the computer screen more the several hours. However, sometimes people did not realize the same problem until it became serious. Just like the teenagers’ eyes, should people be aware of this situation till more teenagers begin to blind?  Citizens have many policies and rules to protect the teenagers keep health and far away from the danger; because human’s future relay on those teenagers. Humans could not have any risk on teenagers to destroy their future life.
